Yokohama, Japan - JGC Corporation (JGC) and its subsidiary JGC Algeria Ltd. have been awarded by Sonatrach, Algeria’s state-owned oil and gas company, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services contract for gas & oil gathering units, separation, desalting and other facilities in Rhourde Nouss, Algeria.
The contract is of the lump-sum turnkey type, having a value of approximately US$500 million. Project completion is scheduled for the first half of 2011.
For this project, JGC plans to utilize JGC Algeria to execute a part of the work, as well as support JGC Algeria in increasing its staff numbers and technical capabilities.
JGC was awarded the contract for an oil refinery construction project in Arzew in 1969.
