Biomass is the product of normally occurring degeneration of vegetation, etc, such as unused brushwood/waste wood, that would produce CO₂ over time. It can be foreseen that in the future an energy extraction plant combined with tree plantations would provide a recycling-orientated (renewable) energy that is environmentally acceptable. Utilization of biomass energy can be considered as a partner to solar energy utilization. JGC is actively pursuing the utilization of biomass resources as a contribution to the future recycling-orientated society.
