Sludge Melting System / Ash Melting System
This is a sludge/ash melting process designed to treat and stabilize sludge from sewage treatment plants in the easiest and most economical manner.
Using a revolutionary unit-a JGC spiral flow sludge melting furnace-this process melts sludge at high temperatures (by making maximum use of the sludge’s high calorific value) and then cools it for solidification, thereby reducing the volume to as little as 1/25 of that of the raw material.
As it adopts a melting furnace of a non-cooled refractory wall type, this process is also suitable for sludge/ash melting at a low incineration cost.

      Features

  • Highly efficient sludge cake drying with a multi-stage dryer
  • High-temperature melting by making use of the incineration of the sludge itself
  • Highly stable operation
  • Energy saving through maximum heat recovery
  • High volume reduction (1/25) in the form of molten slag
  • Varied applications of solidified slag (concrete aggregates, material for backfill, etc.)

Applications

  • Sludge melting:

Melting of sewage sludge

  • Ash melting:

Melting of ash and fly ash from the incineration of sewage sludge and industrial sludge

Experience

  • Sewage sludge melting system (150 tons/day) for Osaka municipality (Hirano)
  • Incineration/melting system (incineration: 90 tons/day, ash melting: 2.4 tons/day) for Company “A” (Kagoshima Prefecture)
