JGC Corporation was founded in 1928 as Japan's first engineering contractor. Over its 80 years of operation as a "technological innovator without borders", the company has been involved in well over 20,000 projects, in Japan and in over 70 countries around the world.

The wide range of projects performed by JGC for its valued clients cover the fields of hydrocarbons, including oil and gas development, petroleum refining, LNG, gas processing, and petrochemicals, as well as involvement in environmental protection, nuclear power, nonferrous metals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and medical centers. Meanwhile, alternative energy sources are being vigorously sought worldwide with the aim of creating low-carbon-use societies. Furthermore, issues surrounding water and food are gaining prominence. The world is changing quickly.
