In recent years, as China has experienced rapid economic growth, water pollution has become an increasingly serious problem urgently in need of a solution. Using its engineering technology and expertise, JGC has been contributing to water purification and environmental preservation in China.

CO₂ Capture and Storage (CCS) Project

Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) is a system where CO₂ is captured before being released into the atmosphere, and injected underground for storage. CCS shows great promise as a major strategy to mitigate global warming. JGC, in partnership with a number of other companies, is actively working on the promotion and advancement of CCS around the world.

CDM Business (Emissions Credit Trading)

CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) business involves the execution of projects for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as a cooperative effort between developed countries and developing countries. The resulting reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (so-called "emissions credits") are then shared between the project partners. Through this system, investors from developed countries can contribute to their country's emissions reduction goals through helping reduce emissions from other countries. JGC is applying its engineering technology and project management expertise to the advancement of CDM business in China.
