Privacy Policy for Recruiting

 
         
     

JGC Corporation ("JGC") has established guidelines to properly protect the personal information of individuals who submit applications for employment with the company. These guidelines are applied with respect to all information from which an individual can be identified, including names, addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses and other details. Please be aware that the submission of these items of information with an application for employment will signify to us your consent to the application of our guidelines as outlined below. Accordingly, we urge all applicants to carefully read and confirm their understanding of the guidelines. If you do not agree with the contents of the guidelines, please do not submit an application to JGC.

Collection of Personal Information;
JGC may collect applicant information on the following occasions;

  1. When an applicant applies for a position with JGC through the Recruitment
    Page on our website.
  2. When applicants send or provide JGC with any information by e-mail, postal mail, documents, telephone, direct verbal communication, or by other means.
  3. When an applicant is required to take part in an explanatory meeting conducted by JGC, or to take a written examination, aptitude test or an interview.

Intended Use of Applicants Information;
JGC will use applicant information only for the purposes described below. For successful applicants, the information provided will be retained in the database of employee information maintained by JGC. Information provided by unsuccessful candidates will be properly deleted from JGC's records. In addition, JGC may sample applicant information, but only that from which an individual can not be identified, for the purposes of compiling statistics, making analyses and obtaining other statistical information regarding our applicants.

  1. JGC may contact applicants individually for the purpose of evaluating their suitability for employment.
  2. JGC may provide applicants with information concerning recruiting at JGC.
    JGC may request applicants to respond to questionnaires.
  3. JGC may use applicant information to the degree necessary to achieve the purposes of its recruiting activities.

Management of Applicant Information;
Within JGC, the recording and management of applicant information is carried out by properly authorized personnel. Applicants may make inquiries regarding the status their information. Such inquiries will be answered as far as they are deemed appropriate. However, it is JGC's policy never to reply to inquiries regarding the content of recruiting activities or the results of their assessments of applicants.

Outsourcing of Applicant Information Handling;
JGC may outsource part of the recruiting activities to third parties entrusted with such responsibility by us or to affiliated companies ("Entrusted Parties") and may communicate necessary applicant information to them. In such cases, JGC will supervise the actions and procedures of any such Entrusted Parties and take adequate security measures to ensure that applicant information is kept secure and protected against leaks or use by any other party.

Provision of Applicant Information to Third Parties;
JGC does not disclose applicant information to third parties except in the following cases.

  1. When an applicant has given prior consent to the disclosure.
  2. When such disclosure is required to conform to national or local government regulations.
  3. When disclosure to Entrusted Parties is necessary within the scope of recruiting activities.

Improvement;
JGC reviews these guidelines from time to time and may revise them without obtaining the consent of applicants.
